Davey "Hotdog" George

*** It has been quite some time since I last updated my blog. And for

that I apologize. ***

On the night of August 26th, 2009, I lost a close friend and co-worker. Mr. Davey George was always an inspiration to my friends and myself. He had a kind, warm spirit and a bright, energetic smile. I have had a hard time coping with this loss.

Dear Davey,

I love you so much. But this you always knew. You always made me smile, have belly laughs, and the occasional snort. We would talk, text, drink, eat, and play together. You were Mr. Adventure, always making me feel like a lazy bum. I will miss your rosy cheeks as you would rush into the lobby after a morning of skiing. Just in time for a quick shower and then straight to work. I will miss Concerts in the Park, where you would plop on my blanket and eat my cheese and crackers. I will miss peanut wars at Shucks, shuffleboard at No Name, volleyball at the park, bowling in Heber, dancing down the Grocery Store aisles... I will think of you every time I lace up a pair of skates, when the skies open up and the snow starts to fall, on my first "hike" of the season... Thank you for bringing so much light to my life. I miss your guts. I miss your smile. I miss your laugh. I miss your gin and tonics :) I will forever keep the memories we share with me!

We held a beautiful service up Guardsman Pass, at the top of Empire Canyon.

We are so fortunate that some of Dave's MASSIVE family could come and celebrate his life with us.

A group of us drove up Guardsman Pass, and then hiked to the Jupiter Lift. We picked the perfect place just above the lift. And in the snow storm we spread some of Dave's ashes. It was such an experience. I am glad that we have such a great group of friends that we could do this together.

Taking Australia by Storm!

As most people know I have been planning on visiting my good friend Stacey in Australia this October. After watching ticket prices and weighing my options of airlines I bought my ticket with Qantas in March. I think everyone thought I was nuts to purchase so early. But I had the money, I paid it off right away, and I was DEFINITELY going. So that got a certain few friends minds reeling. After watching ticket prices all summer (ranging from as low as $559 with tax, to as high as $1500) I now have a few traveling partners in crime. I can OFFICIALLY say that Jordan and Craig will be meeting me in Los Angeles. Jordan is one of my very good friends who is currently residing in Tampa, Florida. I am trying my darnest to get him back in Park City! Craig is Jordan's best friend. He is a rager just like the rest of us, and quite the fisherman at that! We are excited to be traveling together.

Now it is time for the planning to begin. In EXACTLY 2 months we will be landing in Sydney, Australia. While we are on two different flights, we will be landing within about an hour of each other. And departing likewise 3 weeks later. We are super excited to be reuniting with Stacey and her lovely boyfriend Kevin.

Kevin and Stacey have been living in Nantucket this summer. Working at the White Elephant. While we love that they are able to have an awesome experience like this, I hate that they are SO busy and SO far away. Last summer when they lived in San Diego it didn't seem as far away. And I was able to reunite with Stacey in San Francisco before continuing to Beijing, China.

Jordan and Bart are excited to be reunited! Their love has been strained with the distance. We are excited to witness their girly love for each other!

Time to start a BLOG!

So after about a YEAR of blog envy I have decided to start a blog! I am still learning, as you can see. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to send them my way. I feel like I am SO behind in the blogging world. Whereas I was way ahead of the curve for facebook, this is uncharted territory. I'm not sure that I will have anything fun and exciting to say. But hopefully I will keep you entertained!

My goals for this blog are:

(1) To have a fresh start.

(2) To be able to connect with friends and family.

(3) To document my travels and inspire others to travel.
